How You Can Help  You can help enhance the lives of adults with developmental disabilities by getting involved at New Horizons in these ways:

Volunteer Your Time and Expertise
New Horizons is very fortunate to have so many devoted , caring and dedicated volunteers who have given countless hours of their time and talents, and every single one of our volunteers make us the number one agency in our field in Southern California.

Our volunteers are the backbone of our organization and we need additional volunteers for the new program year 2008-2009.  Unlike a regular 9 to 5 job, volunteer opportunities are diverse and can be tailored to fit your time and interests.  At new Horizons we have something for everyone.  For more information contact our Volunteer Manager, Tolly Fallon, at 818-894-9301, ext. 329 or e-mail to Tfallon@newhorizons-sfv.org

Make a Donation!
Your tax-deductible donation is appreciated and is important in helping fund our programs and services.  Be a part of our annual Fulfilling Dreams campaign and help make dreams come true for our clients.  Your generosity will give our clients jobs that enrich them, homes that care for them, and opportunities for independence.
The San Fernando Valley Association for the Retarded, Inc., d.b.a. New Horizons, is a 501(c)3 charitable organization (Tax ID 95-1862084) organization.

Tribute Gifts
Make a donation in honor of someone's birthday, anniversary, baby's birth or holiday wishes.  Your contribution not only sends warm wishes to friends, relatives and business acquaintances, it supports New Horizons' life-changing programs.

Fund Raising Events
New Horizons has two major fund raising events each year, the Golf Classic in the Fall and a Gala event in Spring.  We invite you to take part in these events as a participant or sponsor, or through volunteering.

In addition, we invite you to organize a special event within your workplace, religious organization, civic group or family to benefit New Horizons' services to adults with developmental disabilities.  Or, in lieu of gifts for holidays, anniversaries, or bar and bat mitzvahs, have your relatives make a donation to New Horizons!

Schedule an Event at Sam's CafeDining Hall
Our cafe is a food services training program during the day, but is transformed into an elegant and lovely banquet room for luncheons, dinners and on weekends, providing catering services for special events.  Weddings, quinceaneras, receptions, anniversaries and parties are scheduled here on a regular basis.  For more information on hall rental, menus and pricing please contact Charles Bloomquist at 818-894-9301, ext. 322.

New Horizons Perpetual Foundation
All bequests and memorial gifts for New Horizons are directed to our endowment fund, New Horizons Perpetual Foundation.  These generous donations from wills and trusts help assure the future of our programs for years to come.

Estate Planning
If you would like free information on planning your estate, please contact us.  Mr. Dick Bartus is a retired estate planning professional and a member of our Board of Directors, will contact you to provide pro bono consultation with no obligation.

Vehicle Donations
New Horizons' used car donation program has been in existence for over four years, benefiting both the car donors and New Horizons.  We work with a very reputable and reliable local company in handling donated vehicles.
