Troy Binder

We are sad to announce that Troy Binder passed away on September 19, 2007.

Troy Binder was special in many ways.  As the first "graduate" of New Horizons' vocational training program back in the 1980s, he paved the way to show that people with developmental disabilities could be valuable employees at businesses in the community.  His work ethic and productivity are also special in that he did not let his current diagnosis of cancer stop him from using his recovery time to help an important cause.

Troy collected coins from friends and family members throughout Spring 2007.  He rolled them and as the bundles grew, he decided to donate them to help expand the services to adults with disabilities at New Horizons, a North Hills non-profit agency.  In April 2007, he presented $750 in rolled coins to New Horizons.  Since that time, community friends have joined Troy, and he has now donated over $5,000 to New Horizons!

We want to keep Troy's initiative "on a roll" and invite you to join us by donating change that will change lives of adults with developmental disabilities.  Your small change will make a big difference in creating opportunities and possibilities in the years ahead!

At the request of his family, donations in Troy's name to continue his dream may be made to New Horizons.  To make a tax free donation online to New Horizons through our secure server, click here:

Thank you for your thoughtfulness.
